[hang nadim] Perhimpunan haram bukan penyelesaian - NGO.....

KUALA LUMPUR 15 Jun - Tindakan pembangkang mengadakan perhimpunan secara haram bukanlah penyelesaian terbaik dalam menyuarakan rasa tidak puas hati sebaliknya ia mengganggu keselamatan orang awam.

Pengerusi Majlis Lembaga Akademi Keusahawanan Islam Alfafa, Datin Reny Rahayu Mohd.

KUALA LUMPUR Aye, aye, captain: The Entrepreneurs’ Organisation holding its first underwater board meeting at Aquaria KLCC Tuesday. The event earned them a place in the Malaysia Book of Records. — GLENN GUAN / The StarMPUR: A fear of water by some board members of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation Malaysia did not dampen their enthusiasm to attend a meeting underwater.

It was the first such board meeting in the country, with the event at the Aquaria KLCC yesterday earning a place in the Malaysia Book of Records.

The novel idea came from its president Rudy Foo, who wanted to find a memorable way to end his term at the NGO at the end of the month.

Foo said he went ahead with the plan despite knowing that some of the board members were afraid of water.

“I suggested that all board members face their fears so they could face the world with more courage in their personal lives and in the business world,'' he said, adding that money could not buy the experience.

Ten out of 11 board members attended the meeting that lasted 15 minutes and 48 seconds.

They wore diving suits and used plastic boards to communicate, surrounded by fish in the 7,560 sq ft aquarium.

“It was supposed to be all 11 of us, but one had to go for an emergency meeting involving his company,” said Foo.

Aggie Lee was one of the board members who fought off her fear of getting into the tank.

“It was challenging but I kept telling myself to be calm. Now I can say that I have done it ... it was a breakthrough experience for me,” she said.
